Taylor Haugen Foundation Recognized in Invest in Others Awards

Niceville’s Brian Haugen of Emerald Coast Wealth Advisors of Raymond James Honored for Charitable Work with Taylor Haugen Foundation

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NICEVILLE, FL, July 11–– Brian Haugen, Senior Vice President at Emerald Coast Wealth Advisors of Raymond James in Destin, FL, received Honorable Mention in the 16th Annual Invest in Others Awards for his philanthropic contributions to the Taylor Haugen Foundation.

The Invest in Others Awards recognizes the charitable work of financial advisors in communities across the country and around the world.

The YESS© Program (Youth Equipment for Sports Safety) of the Taylor Haugen Foundation is established to educate and equip student athletes with new generation, high-tech equipment to help better protect against abdominal injuries. It provides awareness of and equips youth contact sports teams with the same technologically advanced abdominal protective gear worn by professional and collegiate athletes. By working directly with school administrators, the Board of Directors actively participates in a variety of meetings and activities to present the benefits of wearing sports safety equipment. Through collaboration with vendors, the YESS© Program (Youth Equipment for Sports Safety) provides interested secondary schools and leagues with “state of the art” abdominal safety equipment.

The Invest in Others Awards will be presented on September 29th in Boston in the following categories: Catalyst, Community Service, Emerging Impact, Lifetime Achievement and Volunteer of the Year.

The Taylor Haugen Foundation was created to honor the memory of the 15-year-old Niceville High School student who passed away after a traumatic abdominal injury sustained during a football game on August 30, 2008. The Foundation builds and recognizes youth leaders and promotes abdominal sports safety to honor the legacy of Taylor Haugen. They provide awareness, education and abdominal injury protection to secondary-aged schools and leagues in contact sports through its YESS© Program (Youth Equipment for Sports Safety). The Foundation also recognizes and supports outstanding scholar-athletes with scholarships and awards.
