“Don’t Quit…Never Give Up”

Taylor Haugen left a lasting legacy with his motto of “Don’t Quit…Never Give Up.” In 2008 Taylor passed away from an abdominal injury sustained while playing football. The words and actions of “T” have inspired so many to improve themselves, serve others, and persevere. After T’s passing, his friends raised money by selling maroon ribbons emblazoned with T’s number 80. With that money, those students and T’s parents decided to fund a scholarship for a graduating Niceville High School student. The criteria of the scholarship would be based on T’s character traits of academics, athleticism, leadership, community service and Christian faith. Now we offer six scholarships covering four Northwest Florida counties, and the Taylor Haugen Trophy.

The Taylor Haugen Foundation recognizes and supports area athletes who best demonstrate a similar balance between academics, athleticism, leadership, community service and Christian faith. As well as exemplifying T’s character traits, those students embody his motto of “Don’t Quit…Never Give Up.” The Foundation hopes to recognize those well-rounded individuals who demonstrate the perseverance to improve themselves in all aspects of their life while enjoying God’s gifts to the fullest.
