FORT WALTON BEACH, FL (June 25, 2013) – The Taylor Haugen Foundation (THF) was created to honor the memory of the 15-year-old Niceville High School student who passed away after an injury sustained during a football game on August 30, 2008. The foundation emulates all of Taylor’s wonderful qualities – devotion to his faith, family, friends, academics, sports, and most importantly his mantra of ‘Don’t Quit. Never Give Up.’ THF provides support and recognition to faith-based, athletic students and community organizations through awards, scholarships and funding. In conjunction with the All Sports Association, every year the THF presents the Taylor Haugen Trophy and award to a local athlete. The trophy recognizes faith-based, student athletes who have persevered and dynamically improved in their sport over time, community-oriented citizen, and achieves high academic success. The THF trophy travels to different locations throughout the year and remains on display for several weeks or months at each location to spread Taylor’s message and bring awareness of the foundation.
