Our Mission
To Educate, Protect, and Inspire.
The Taylor Haugen Foundation was created to honor the memory of the 15-year-old Niceville High School student who passed away after a traumatic abdominal injury sustained during a football game on August 30, 2008.
The Foundation builds and recognizes youth leaders and promotes youth sports safety to honor the legacy of Taylor Haugen. Also, we provide awareness, education and abdominal injury protection to secondary aged schools and leagues in contact sports, through our YESS© Program (Youth Equipment for Sports Safety). The Foundation also recognizes and supports outstanding scholar-athletes with scholarships and awards.
We aim to EDUCATE players, parents and coaches on the risks associated with abdominal injuries and prevention within contact sports. Through our YESS© Program (Youth Equipment for Sports Safety) we provide equipment to PROTECT youth athletes from abdominal injuries. The Foundation also INSPIRES future leaders by supporting and recognizing faith-based student athletes who have overcome, persevered and dynamically improved in their sport over the course of time.
The vision of the YESS© Program (Youth Equipment for Sports Safety) is to raise awareness and educate parents, players and supporters about this next generation of Abdominal Injury Protection equipment, how it is made available for their team, and to facilitate access to this cutting edge equipment.
