There are four main areas of emphasis for the Taylor Haugen Foundation:
1. The Taylor Haugen Trophy
In conjunction with the All Sports Association, the Taylor Haugen Foundation presents the Taylor Haugen Trophy and award to a local athlete. The trophy recognizes faith-based, student athletes who have persevered and dynamically improved in their sport over time and is a community-oriented and respected team player, leader and athlete that lives up to the credo, “Don’t Quit, Never Give Up!”
2. The Taylor Reid Haugen Scholarship Program
Two $1500 scholarships are offered annually. Taylor was comfortably expressive about his faith in God and showed it through his commitment to volunteer work in his church and community. The Foundation recognizes well-rounded individuals who demonstrate the perseverance to improve themselves in all aspects of their life while enjoying God’s gifts to the fullest, as Taylor did.
3. Taylor Haugen Foundation Youth Corps
Started by middle and high school students, the mission is “Youth taking Taylor’s passion for serving others into their communities by lending a hand to those in need and positively impacting the world around them through Christ.” The Youth Corps performs acts of service for under-served people and places in need in our community and throughout the country. Two new Youth Corps groups were created in Virginia and Orlando in 2010.
4. Taylor Haugen Foundation YESS Program
The YESS program will, through a variety of mediums, provide youth safety awareness and equipment to middle school and high school teams, School Boards, and parent groups. Based on available resources, the Foundation will energetically partner with interested groups to present grants, match funds, and/or provide education in order to promote this much needed safety equipment.
